History of PTL, length of cervix

I have a history of PTL with my first pregnancy (32 weeks, breathine, bed rest did not deliver until 37). I am now in my 2oth week with my second child. I have been having contractions for about a month. At one point I was having them every 3-5 minutes when I was standing hanging laundry. I called the Dr. and he ordered an ultraound to chech the length of my cervix. He said a study was done to see if the length of the cervix was an indicator to PTL. He said that the only problem is that the study was done on women in their 26th week.

Any experience with this and your patients? Is it a good indicator?

Thank you
