Re: 2 m/c in a row for NORMAL couple: bad luck or sth else?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Mar 2002 12:30:52 -0600 (CST)
Hi not a doctor, but am in similar situation. I have 3 children all conceived easily and with no miscarriages ever. Trying for our 4th, we have had 3 losses in a row in 10 months (1 later loss, and 2 chemical prengancies). My doctor went ahead and referred me to RE and we did all testing and their only answer at this point is "bad luck" as everything is coming back normal. I am 38, so that alone could account for it. My understanding is that while most miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities, only a very small percentage of those chromosomal errors are due to problems in the parents. The other kinds of chromosomal errors that most commony result in early miscarriage are random errors that occur at fertilization and which have nothing to do with the genetic makeup of the parents. I know it i maddening not to have an answer. Good luck.
