Re: 10 w and sudden gush of fluid with bloodFrom: Christy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Mar 2002 11:28:46 -0600 (CST)
Kylesmom, I had the same thing happen at 6wks (I'm now 12wks), and I was sure I was miscarrying. I was walking around a bookstore and it just gushed out, a lot of blood, and it was watery. I went home expecting it not to stop, but it did, and I didn't cramp although I did have some back pain. My doctor doesn't know what happened either, because it was too late (and too much) to be implantation bleeding. But my baby is still just fine. I read that 20% of normal pregnancies have bleeding in the first trimester. I'm like you, though, I was scared to death. My doctor gave me another u/s the next week just for my peace of mind. The fact that the bleeding stopped is a great sign.
