16 weeks and More Exhausted than EverFrom: Daphne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 14 Mar 2002 17:01:35 -0600 (CST)
Is it normal to be totally without energy as early as 16 weeks? I was tired during my first trimester, but mostly I just had really bad 24-hr nausea. This week, I'm finding that I have lost my initial post-first-trimester energy and find myself dizzy and often totally unable to stop sleeping for several days each week. I could hardly function at work yesterday and was completely exhausted after only 1/2 hour at the gym (I'm usually able to spend an hour working out). Today I stayed home and would have slept ALL DAY had I not gotten hungry and gotten up to eat some lunch around 2pm. I was ready to go to sleep again at 4 and can barely stay awake now that it is 6pm. Is this normal for this stage in pregnancy or could I maybe just have a flu? I am drinking plenty of water (about 3 liters a day) and am eating well (too well!). Thanks, Daphne
