One of every ten pregnancies ends up as a first trimester miscarriage. that means that 1 of every 100 NORMAL women will have 2 miscarriages in a row. Most Hyns don't do any evaluation until after the third mc in a row. Trisomy in th efetus is the most common cause found. The chromosomal problem occurs as the egg or the sperm are undergoing meiosis(reduction division) where it sheds 23 chromosomes so that when the egg and sperm join, there will only be 46 chromosomes.
