Does this sound like too much estrogen? From: Joy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 12 Mar 2002 11:34:50 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I have a 16 month old. After I had him, my period returned within 8 weeks and has been clockwork ever since, except fluctuations between 26-31 days. I never had a problem with cervical mucus. I breastfed my son exclusively for the first five months. Then from 5-8 months 3 times a day. Then from 8-12 months 2 times a day. Then from 12-16 months 1 time a day. So, a few weeks ago is when I completely stopped breastfeeding him. I felt the normal sensations for a week of the breasts adjusting..pain, swelling, all that. Then they were fine. I am a week before my period is due and my breasts are in a lot of pain. So painful, that it hurts to walk. And my face is really, breaking out. I had endo before, which i hear means excess estrogen. Could this excess estrogen be recurring? When I was breastfeeding, does that mean my estrogen was probably at a normal level, and now that I am not--then it is at a high abnormal level? I have been ttc#2 for 7 months with no success. Should I have blood tests done. What do you think? Thanks for your time in reading and answering. I love this site and I have learned a lot from it! Sincerely, Joy
