Hi there — I had 3 children without giving up diet soda. No problems whatsoever. That said, I agree with the other poster that Nutrasweet is one bad chemical. I'd swear I'm addicted! I am curretnly ttc baby#4, without success for 10 months, and this time I"ve all but given up the diet soda (1-2 a week, never post ovulation). Ironically I'm not pregnant yet — I joke to my husband that my body chemistry must have changed from what it was used to...maybe his sperm evolved to my nutrasweet-laden body..ha. But anyway, just to let you know that I don't think 1-2 sodas a day (non caffienated) can cause any measurable harm, or else surely I would have seen some harm in my 3 pregnancies. BUT, I also highly recommend using pregnancy as a chance to get off of the stuff for good if possible. I worry more about neruological or other yet to be known detrimental effects showing up down the years (not in baby but in me!) Good luck.
