cleocin topical gel for acneFrom: sonja (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Mar 2002 23:59:02 -0600 (CST)
i posted if cleocin (clindamycin - topical gel for acne) was safe while ttc and subsequently in pregnancy, to which doc kindly replied that there is no evidence of risk. I forgot to add that on 2 seperate instances(in a period of 2-3 years of use) i had very short spell of mild colitis (cramping, bloating) while using it, the symptoms went in a day or two of giving it up. The pamphlet clearly says colitis is NOT an uncommon side-effect. My ob/gyn wrote me Rx for cleocin and assured me it won't pose a risk. I just want to make sure the colitis does not represent unsuitability. By the way cleocin works great for me. If it is unsafe then what else would be recommended. Thanks for your kind response.
