still trying to get pregnantFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Mar 2002 08:57:09 -0600 (CST)
We've been ttc for 14 months now. Six months ago I tried 3 rounds of Clomid 50 mg with my ob/gyn then we found that my husband had a low sperm count of 19 mil. with only 25% motility, 85% normal forms. We had the SA repeated and now he's 32 mil, 75% motile, and 85% normal forms. We started seeing an RE. I have reg. cycles and track ovulation with BBT and OPK. We had a great post coital and they could see good lining and mature follicles on my ultrasound. My 21 day progesterone was 10 which the dr. said I was ovulating. My HSG was all clear. I thought we would try IUI. The RE says we can do IUI but he does it with injectibles, not Clomid. I am very hesitant to go the injectible fertility route so quickly. Why not start out with Clomid and IUI and see what happens? The RE says I don't need Clomid because I am obviously ovulating. The why would I need Pergonal???? He avoided my question and just said this is the most successful way. I am thinking of seeking a 2nd opinion. Injectibles seem a little drastic?????
