NOT a doc, but I just wanted to share my experience. Tested + at 12 dpo, went in for an u/s at 5.5 weeks due to some suspect hcg numbers (later discovered it was a lab error). Anyway, doc saw a sac and nothing else. Told me it might be a pseudo-sac paired with an ectopic. Went back 10 days later and there was a yolk sac, embryo and fetus with a great h/b. Now 32 weeks and counting! Even had some spotting at 7 and 9 wks, and all looks great. There is definitely hope for you - doc should do another scan in a week or two to make sure there is a h/b.
