once a day is designed to suppress an infection, increased doses can kill an existing infection, assuming hte bacteria is sensitive to teh drug >

usually vaginal contaminants show more than one type of bacteria

no, lots of potentaily bad UTIs give negaative dipsticks (which is why I culture if the dip is negative but the woman has symptoms) >
