Braxton-Hicks contractions are PAINLESS Contractions (So said Sir John Braxton-Hicks in 1826 before the Royal Society of London). He proposed that hese were good as a pregnancy test. If the woman was having painless contractions, she was pregnant and it wasn't a large tumor.

As to what I would recommend to a patient in this situation, I would know more about the situation and based on all of the knowledge would m,ake recommendations. There isn't enough info here to second guess your Docotr.
