Changes in length of cervixFrom: sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 28 Feb 2002 16:37:41 -0600 (CST)
I have read thru the archives and understand some of the info regarding cervical length. But I am hoping you can help me put my situation into perspective. I am now 30 weeks pg and at my appt yesterday my Dr discovered that my cervix is now only 1.5 cm long and is a fingertip dilated. At my 28 week appt, I was 3 cm and completely closed. At this point, what recommendations would you make to a patient in this condition? I am not on bedrest or medications, but I am drinking lots of water to stop my Braxton Hicks contractions. I am not sure how critical my situation is. Thanks in advance.
