Possible to have IUI without taking Clomid?From: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 28 Feb 2002 11:37:49 -0600 (CST)
I'm almost 32 and have been ttc for 4 cycles after two m/c. I'm afraid time is running out for me and want to have IUI just to increase my chance if there is still no outcome after one more cycle's trying. But I ovulate regularly every cycle and have no other fertility problem (and DH has a very good SA) so can I just try IUI without taking Clomid? I'm really afraid of the side effects of Clomid and I'm afraid that if the IUI does not succeed the Clomid would mess up my cycle and further delay my chance of even natural conception (since it takes several cycles for your body to be back to normal after medicine stimulation). Does IUI w/o Clomid ever have any chance of success? And is the success rate of IUI w/o Clomid lower than that w/ Clomid? If yes then by how much? Thanks very much for your help!
