Whether two days after your period ends would be a fertile time for you would depend largely on how long your cycles generally are. This would be good information for you to know. It is always a good thing to know what is going on with your own body. A good book to look at is "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It also gives information as to WHY and WHEN barrier methods of contraception are likely to fail so that you can make a more informed decision regarding using condoms, etc.

Precisely because they do break you need to take a long hard look at the potential consequences or intimacy. If you are not prepared to deal with the long term ramifications of either pregnancy or STD's then you may want to seriously consider abstinence until you are in a position to deal with whatever may happen. Yes, you can get on contraception, but they ALL have a failure rate and I have delivered babies to women who have used IUDs. the pill, had their tubes tied, had norplant, even after their partner had a vasectomy. (lab tests proved paternity) If you are willing to take the odds represented by the failure rates, are you willing to take the chance with STD's that come when the condom does break. These can be much more devastating in the long term than the fear of pregnancy. NOt saying that there is only one way to make this decision...no one can make it but you. But if you are mature enough to be making the decision to be intimate, you are mature enough to fully examine all of the issues. ONly you know what you are prepared to handle if the methods you chose fail. There are no easy outs...that is one of the hard realities of adult life!
