MUch depends on what milk ducts are removed, and if the nipple is involved. I know of women who have nursed after reduction, but none of them acghieved a high enough supply to not supplement. Most of these women used a supplemental nursing system so that the baby was still receiving nourishment at the breast as well as the little bit of breast milk that they got. SOme things to keep in mind are that ANY breast milk is better than none and that there is much to be gained from nursing at the breast beyond actual nourishment. You might want to contact La Leche League as well as do a search online for support groups for women who have had reductions and subsequently went on to breastfeed infants.

Please note, all is not lost if you end up bottle feeding, but enough can be gained by breastfeeding that I would wholeheartedly encourage you to look long and hard at this before you decide on surgery.
