Risks to fetus? Synthroid dependent, TSH=0.07, 19 weeks PG. OB wants to decrease thyroid, EndoC wants to stay the sameFrom: Sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Feb 2002 15:00:41 -0600 (CST)
I am confused because my OB/GYN wants to decrease my synthroid dose from .3 to .2. The aim, says the OB is to get my TSH into the .3-1.0 range. My endocrinologist, who I've been seeing for 10 years (since my thyroid cancer diagnosis and treatment) says that my TSH levels are fine and that the synthroid should not be decreased. I have read about possible harm to the fetus with both hypo and hyper thyroidism yet I cannot find anything relating to acceptable TSH levels, nor specific harm as a result of either condition. What are the risks to the fetus as a result of my low TSH level? What is an acceptable TSH range for someone in my circumstance?
