I am so sorry for your loss... As far a severe acute chorioamnionitis, this can be from an "ascending infection" coming from the vagina or an unable to be noticed, tiny fluid leak allowing bacteria to get into the sac. Treatment of such a problem doesn't usually affect the pregnancy but rather is meant to protect the mother. Hope this helps and write back anytime for more information. Dr. M
