Re: anterior placenta?From: Abbey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Feb 2002 17:00:50 -0600 (CST)
I have an anterior placenta as well and had the same issue with not hearing the heartbeat at early checkups- this will get easier as the baby gets bigger. The only other thing I noticed was less fetal movement early on- if the baby kicks the placenta, you may feel it only faintly or not at all. For several weeks, I constantly worried that the baby wasn't moving enough- but now that I'm at 29 weeks, he's big enough that I feel his movements all the time. So don't panic if you find yourself not feeling movements until later than expected (17-20 weeks) or if they aren't very consistent early on.
