Re: Norplant and menstruation

Hi Nikkie! I had Norplant inserted back in 1993 after the birth of my first daughter. Needless to say, I had nothing but problems while on it (bleeding constantly, headaches, bloating). I had it removed 9 months later. I even had a false positive pregnancy test (that was scary!) If I remember correctly, the hormones that Norplant give out, are out of the body fairly quickly.. matter of days. I would keep an eye on your cycles for a couple months to see when you ovulate and when your first day of your period starts, then go for it and have a baby. I conceived 2 months after having Norplant removed.
