Both these types of contractions and these dreams are normal regardless of what you do. (or dont do) Not every contraction is, or leads to, preterm labor. The uterus contracts with some regularity during normal pregnancy anyway. Most of the time you would be unaware of it and the vast majority of the time it does not change the cervix at all. It would be a shame to deprive both your husband and yourself of intimacy during pregnancy because you are afraid. I suggest you spend some time discussing this with your doctor. If he(she) feels that the level of risk is low for yor you to experience preterm labor I would wholehaertedly encourage youto enjoy what is, for many couples, one of the perks of pregnancy...an elevated sex drive in the second trimester coupled with freedom from contraceptive worries.
