I'm 24 weeks pregnant and have noticed about 2 BH contractions so far in the last three weeks. Keep in mind I'm new at this so it kind of scared me when I had the first one. Ever since the first one I've constantly been pressing on my abdomen, feeling for any hardness. Consequently, I've felt parts of my uterus become hard from time to time. However, I would NOT have felt these tightenings had I not been feeling for them. My ob told me to go to labor and delivery if I feel 4 or more contractions in an hour. Am I to assume she means the kind where you notice them WITHOUT feeling for them? The rational side of my brain tells me that she doesn't mean the contractions I feel with my hands that I wouldn't notice had I not been paying attention and she probably meant the kind where I feel my uterus contract without using my hands. Sorry for the semantics but I want to make sure I have this straight. Thanks. -Nervous Nelly
