The reason for pulling back on the syringe plunger prior to injecting is to assure that the needle tip is not within a blood vessel. The fact that you are doing fine makes it unlikely that you had an intravascular injection. Further, the injection should be fine from an efficacy standpoint. Not entirely sure why you are giving the injection in your stomach though. The margin of error for intramuscular injections is significantly smaller when given in the butt... Lynn
