Hi, I don't know if I will be a lot of help... but I will try anyway. The CM can vary for everyone. I know that typically for me, around the time I get the CM, is when i ovulate. It usually starts as a bit of white discharge, then it increases a little, and feels "wet" etc. and then becomes EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) It is called this because it is the best way to describe what it looks like. It is clear, stringy and you can put it between your fingers and stretch them up to 4-6 cm apart. THIS is the time you are most fertile, and probably ovulating. The funny thing is, it is not always regular, and if you don't get this, it doesn't mean you are not ovulating. As it dries up it goes back to a little creamy, and dry and sort of just forms little peaks between the fingers (as it also does before going stringy), till nothing at all. The reason this is a fertile time is that it carries the sperm up into the fallopian tubes etc and keeps it alive. (Stops the area being too acidic).

When I fell p/g last year, I had the EWCM. I ended up having a blighted ovum, and am again now 6wk 1day p/g. Since the D+C I have not noticed any obvious EWCM, but definitely the creamy discharge about 14 days prior to when I am due for my period. I was also wondering in the back of my head if I was ovulating, but sure enough, I fell p/g. (I feel like it has taken forever, but it was 5 months, which isn't too bad!) I am now just waiting for that 1st u/s (due 22nd Feb at (8wk 3dys) to see a heart beat and make me feel a little more confident. Good luck with ttc and I hope this helped a little. Rgds, Kirsty
