Re: A few questions about BH and Preterm LaborFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Feb 2002 12:40:54 -0600 (CST)
It sounds very similar to my first pregnancy. My stomach always felt tight and I never knew they were contractions. I can not pinpoint when I started feeling them but if I'd have to guess it was somewhere around 25 weeks. Not that this eases your mind at all, I did go into PTL with my son. I could not stand up straight and kept visiting the bathroom. When I finally called the Dr. he said to go to the hospital and I was contracting every two minutes and could not feel 1/3 of them. I am now 14 weeks with #2 and scared to death to go into PTL with this one. My son was born after 5 hours of labor. My OB (not the same Dr. as number 1) does not seem concerned. I am already cramping up maybe contractions. I did learn one thing through everything. Never hesitate to call the Dr. or just go to the hospital. You know your body better than anyone. The worse thing that could happen is that they tell you that you are fine and send you home...
