At what point do I get concernedFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Feb 2002 12:30:51 -0600 (CST)
I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I went into labor with my son at 32 weeks. Contractions at that point were every two minutes. After Breathine and bedrest he was held off until 37 weeks. I am concerned that I will go into PTL with this baby. I am a Physical Education Teacher and it is very difficult to "take it easy". My OB does not seem to concerned at least at this point. I pointed out that I have some "cramping" now and he said that's normal. I went shopping the other day and really felt cramped up. At one point I leaned on the carriage in hopes that the change in position would help. How can I tell the difference between cramps and contraction? Is my OB not concerned because they would not try and stop it at this point and let me miscarry? This is NOT the same OB I had last time. My last OB said that I would be at risk again. My main concern is that with delivery number 1 my whole labor lasted 5 hours going from water breaking at home and still being one cm when we got to the hospital to 8 cm three hours later. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.
