Re: Very Embarassing Question ...From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 4 Feb 2002 15:26:33 -0600 (CST)
First of all, you shouldn't be embarrased - this is a HUGELY important question to ask. Those of us who take anti-depressents shouldn't have to pay such a steep price in terms of the diminishment of our intimate relationships, so I hope your doc is able to offer some hope. Anyway, before I got pg I was on Wellbutrin, which did not diminish my sex drive or responsiveness at all - in fact, it may have enhanced it. I thought I read somewhere that some docs prescribe a low dose of buspar (generic name for WB) in addition to other antidepressents to help counteract the sexual side effects. I was on Zoloft before the Wellbutrin and NOTHING could move me to climax - it was so frustrating for both of us. When I deliver and wean this baby, I'm going back to Wellbutrin as it made such a big difference in my quality of life. Anyway, good luck to you and I hope you find a solution soon.
