Christy, I had the same thing happen to me at 6w1d, and my doc saw me approx 3 hours after it happened (I still had drops of red blood, but nothing like the original gush). The TransVaginal Ultrasound showed a heartbeat (which was reassuring), but my doc said my chances were 50/50. He told me to rest (no exercise, no sex, no lifting - spend lots of time in bed), and to come back the following week, but to call him if I soaked more than a pad an hour, or passed large clots. The bleeding stopped in 2 days, and brown spotting remained for another 2 weeks. I've been free of any spotting for a week now, and had a good ultrasound a few days ago at 9 weeks, with a strong heartbeat. I've still got almost 4 more weeks of rest to go, but things are looking good so far.

I'd contact your doctor's office asap (they should have someone on call on the weekend), or go to the ER, and get looked at. If everything looks fine, get some bedrest (have someone else do the household chores, cooking, etc.). Good luck! I'm sending sticky-baby vibes your way!
