Pink discharge after starting Metformin for PCOS+TTC? Please help!From: Pandora (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 2 Feb 2002 13:42:49 -0600 (CST)
I started metformin therapy for PCOS on 1/9/02. Prior to that, I had not had a period for over a year. Yesterday and the day before, I noticed a very faint pink discharge on a couple of occasions, when I went to the bathroom. Yesterday, I had a brief period of minor pelvic cramping, accompanied by a bit of nausea. At first, I thought that I was getting a period, but it really didn't seem like a period -- more like tinted-pink mucus than like blood. I have not yet noticed it today. I took a pregnancy test just to check, and it was negative, so I'm assuming I'm not pregnant. Is pink discharge a sign of ovulation? If so, what causes it, and does the pink discharge occur prior to, during, or following ovulation? If this is not a sign of ovulation, what might it be? Should I be concerned? I am hoping to conceive, and I'm wondering, if this happens again, if there is anything that pink discharge tells me about exactly where I might be in my cycle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
