Recurrent miscarriage questionFrom: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 1 Feb 2002 13:21:51 -0600 (CST)
I had 2 miscarriages before I conceived my son. The first was considered one of those things, as it was my first. The 2nd I asked to be tested, so they did, and it was a chromosomal abnormality, Turner's Syndrome. I then had my son, and everything was fine. He was born 10/2000. We have been trying again since July 2001, and got pregnant in January 2002, only to miscarry again, very early. I had bleeding this time, and an ultrasound confirmed an empty uterus (no sac or baby). My first two miscarriages were realized when I went in to hear the heartbeat and there wasn't one. Both died around 7 weeks gestation. Since I had three, although not recurrent miscarriages, would it be wise to do testing on me? I am 34, and we really would like to have one more child. It is hard enough each time going through miscarriages in addition to the stress of trying to conceive without having to worry about yet another miscarriage. Thanks for any opinions.
