Timing of gtt? Not found in archives

I am currently 24w0d and had an appointment scheduled for my 1 hr gtt on 24w4d. I am transferring my care to a different OB and their office has informed me that they do not do the 1 hr gtt until 28w. The nurse asked if there was a reason why it was scheduled earlier, but I am not aware of any reason as to why it would be scheduled 'early'. My other OB never mentioned my weight as a factor (I am overweight) nor was I ever informed of a + urine during my visits. What is the most appropriate time to have the 1 hr gtt done, as I do not want my prenatal care to 'fall through the cracks' when I am transferring care.

Thanks in advance for your time & your response.
