Spermicides & future pregnancy

Hello! I've looked in the past archives but didn't not find what I was looking for .. if there is such a situation/question that has previously been answered, please excuse me ..

I am getting married on 2/24. My fiance and I both decided that I should stop the pill. We don't want to get pregnant before the wedding .. yet, he has it on his mind that we must wait 6 months before trying to get pregnant. In his previous marriage, approximately 20 years ago .. he and his then girlfriend/wife were told to wait 6 months ..[since she was on the pill] so that the body can cleanse itselve of the toxins .. the pill.

I went to my gyn and he told me that due to my age [40], I should start NOW ... that there isn't any evidence that the pill will hurt the fetus/embryo/child ..But that isn't enough for my boyfriend. Soooo ... we're going to another gyn/ob for a second opinion. If it eases his mind .. I'll do anything.

Based on that, we've been having anal sex and/or withdrawal ... we both hate condoms .. so they are not used. And with the fear of pregnancy .. at times sex is all together avoided ..

Is it safe for me to use foams/jellies w/spermicides in the meantime. Would that do any damage to the child NOW or later down the road .. if I do get pregnant ..

All suggestions are accepted ..
