IUGR ogliohydramnios sono measurementsFrom: Roberta (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Jan 2002 09:37:37 -0600 (CST)
Hi this is my third baby. #1 born at 33 weeks, PROM, IUGR (mild)... just fine. #2 suspected PROM at 33 weeks, born at 35 weeks due to severe ofliohydramnios and distress... septic, hypoglycemic... fine after a week in NICU. Now, we had hoped that #3 (suprise baby) would not have any random problems like we thought with first 2 babies. Doc ordered third sono at 27 weeks 'just to check' on baby. Fundal height perfect... no real reason to suspect probs again. Sono revealed low fluid (AFI was 7 I believe... not too bad at all... but) also the head and femur measurements were 2 weeks AHEAD of EDD, but tummy was right at 3 weeks behind. So, there is a month or more discrepency between these numbers! They redid them like 6 times each. I've been referred to maternal fetal specialist for more indepth sonos. I know the low fluid and smaller tummy numbers are indicators for IUGR. They said placental function appeared normal. I was just looking for info or others who have experienced similar sitauations. I am trying to remain calm until my appt in 5 days, but I'm going NUTS. Sorry this was long. Thanks for any info, or redirection to sites that could help!
-- Roberta 27 weeks and counting!
