Sterile catch urine

I have had 2 uti's during this pregnancy. I am 20 weeks, and have been watched carefully.

My dr. suggested that i go to my urologist and get a sterile catch urine sample with a catheter to ensure whatever bacteria is coming from the bladder itself, and to make sure my last course of therapy worked.

First, do you think a sterile catch is called for? Is it much better than a clean catch?

Second, can the person inserting the catheter cause any problems to the baby????

Would this be a quick cath (seconds)? and should I expect it to hurt a lot? They use a pediatric cath.

Thanks for your help.
