OPK Question

If I have a positive opk at 6am this morning, does that mean I will ovulate IN 24-36 hours or WITHIN 24-36 hours. If it is WITHIN, then it certainly doesn't tell me much because it could be an hour from then. I am asking because we have never had luck with OPK's and I am wondering if I am misunderstanding the directions. If it is IN 4-36 hours, would it be best to wait a little bit to have sex so as to not do it so soon--especially if sperm count is marginal? Thank you for your answers.
