ph of vaginal secretions?

I am 26 weeks pregnant. Throughout this pregnancy, my husband has had bouts of a dry, cracked, itchy rash on his penis. I have been checked for yeast and b.v., and my midwife says that she sees nothing at all under the scope. He has not experienced this kind of rash before I became pregnant, and unless he washes immediately after we make love his penis becomes highly irritated. He has self treated for yeast, but the rash is local and doesn't spread to other damp areas, and the treatment doesn't seem effective. We have both been screened and cleared for stds. He is going to see his own doc but my questions are:

do vaginal secretions change dramatically during pregnancy (enough to cause this) and,

does this sound like some kind of an irritation that could cause a problem to the pregnancy (I've had two ascus paps since I got pregnant and am going for a colposcopy in a month)
