PCOS=high risk pregnancy?From: aak (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 21 Jan 2002 13:01:27 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with PCOS about one month ago and started taking 500mg glucophage on Jan. 4 2002. On January 11, I went up to 1000mg/day. I just found out that I'm pregnant, so I'll be calling my infertility doctor (who hadn't "done" anything yet except prescribe the glucophage) to ask him if I should continue the medication. My question, however, is about my regular ob/gyn. Should he be treating this as a high-risk pregnancy? Even more importantly, should *I* be treating this as a high-risk pregnancy? I can't get in to see my ob until February 18, so I wonder if I can still do brisk walking on the treadmill, etc. Should I call my ob and see if I should be on progesterone supplements??
