this is external, and could be from either of the things you mention, or even a varicose vein >

well, I'm not sure I'd consider either serious; some cervical pain is just from the baby tweaking nerves or "punching" the cervix, and is not necessarily a sign of the cervix opening >

varies from woman to woman, and is influenced by where teh placenta is and how heavy you are >
