Re: Panic Attacks During Last C-SectionFrom: Leila (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 18 Jan 2002 18:31:35 -0600 (CST)
Well, since you have already been through it, I guess you kind of know what to expect. I also suffer from panic attacks about other things, and have been on medication before. I just had my first child, via c-section 2 weeks ago and had the ExACT same fears.... panic attack. I don;t know if you had anything given to you in your first c-section, but what I did, if you can make it through the first few minutes (which I was able to do with a supportive partner), as soon as they pull the baby out they will give you relaxing drugs, and boy did it work. That was when I needed it too. NOt to say I wasn;t panickingn before hand, but was able to control a full blown panic attack with controlled breathing before they gave me the relaxing drug. Anyway, just a thought, if you did not receive anything in the IV after the baby came out the last time around.
