When is it necessary to stop working because of contractions?

I posted earlier about having mild contractions, possibly BH, at 21 weeks. I'm a fifth grade teacher so I'm on my feet most of the day and dealing with a certain level of stress, (although I know it's not as though I'm an air traffic controller or anything) :-) I'm just wondering at what point will an ob tell a patient to "take it easy" and ask her to stop working? I don't want to leave my students mid-year if I don't have to but I don't want to become at risk for preterm labor either. I realize it's a difficult call to make and each doctor is different, but what are the general parameters? Thank you for your time.
