Again, respectfully I would suggest that your midwife is out of synch with the accepted practices of ACOG as well as other midwives. 36 weeks is not considered full term, nor is a 38 or 39 week delivery considered particularly early.

36 weeks is considered early, and medically is preterm, regardless of what your midwife says. That's why doctors who have to induce for medical reasons at that stage insist on amnios to gauge lung maturity so you don't end up with a baby in the NICU for breathing problems due to immature lungs.

You should check the archives for the doctor's opinions on the herbal remedies thatyou have been prescribed by your midwife, as well as checking them for the question of what is a preterm delivery.

I think you'll find that your midwife's opinion is not the mainstream, and not the normal recommendation, and that the herbs she is suggesting are considered both untested, and in large amounts unsafe, as well as unproductive.
