Its not uncommon for babies to have 'period of quiet'. Is it possible that you have been too busy sometimes to pay attention and watch for the kicks? One thing you can do (and most drs will tell you to do this anyway): eat and get something to drink, then lay down on your left side and wait for baby to kick. Food and drinks often stimulate the baby and help it to become more active. This is even true in early labor when baby will be less reactive. I hope this helps. If you get too concerened, go to the ER, they can always use doppler to listen for heart tones. Best Wishes!

P.S. I have been there, so I know what drs will tell ya to do :)
