ComplicationsFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 9 Jan 2002 11:23:55 -0600 (CST)
I am 22 weeks pregnant with my second baby and starting to swell a lot. I fear a repeat of my first pregnancy. No one can tell me what went wrong. Because of the unknown I have no idea how to prevent it from happening again. I had gained 83 pounds and my water started to leak two weeks early. They induced labor and 8 hours later got a fever, then put on antibiotics. Started to push 8 hours later for 3 hours. Then had a c-section. My baby was 9lb 14oz. My uterus tore. I then lost blood and had a transfusion. Then got pneumonia a day later. I was in the hospital for two weeks. My baby was just fine, but did loose a lot of weight right away. I lost 50 lbs. before I left the hospital. I had trouble with my section healing, because there was so much fluid in it. My bleeding also didn't stop for an unusually long time, but no infection. Where did I go wrong? HELP!!! Oh and I didn't pass my first blood sugar test, but passed the 3 hour.
