Hello! My question is about HSG & being pregnant. I had an HSG on Nov. 29 and did not know I was preg. I have had an irregular period for the past 6 months & we have tried to get pregnant for 2 yrs... and since I had just had a period on Nov. 2, my doctor said I was probably not preg. But I am sad b/c they DID NOT perform a 2 second pregnancy test... and now we are SCARED to death that our baby might be deformed. B/c the HSG procedure has around 7 rads of radiation I hear... and the normal limit is about 5 rads (that is safe for a fetus.) I was only about 1-2 wks pregnant when I had the HSG... could my baby suffer from retardation or mutations?? My OB said that there is an "ALL OR NOTHING" theory... which means that early in pregnancy the baby would self abort if the x-rays had hurt it. What do you think???
