Not common, but certainly does occur. As to what to do about it, that depends upon the degree of bleeding and whether or not there are any signs of infection. We do know that when there are problems with placentas, prohibiting there removal, they can be left in place and the body will often take care of things. If the symptoms are aggravating, then a D&C would be prudent over medication... Lynn
