favorable cervix?

Hi...I am due tomorrow, and just got back from my doctor's appt. My doctor said that in I am now 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated (5 days ago nothing was happening, only a "soft" cervix-so I have definately made progress). She said the baby is still somewhat high, but that is not abnormal in second pregnancies. She also said that my cervix is not quite anterior, but about midway.

My question is, is this considered a favorable cervix for induction? I had a failed induction with my last pregnancy. I did get cervidil, which did get my cervix ripe, but the pitocin failed to work the next morning (I later found out baby was posterior). I guess I want to know is if nothing else happens and I need to be induced would this be considered a favorable cervix without the need for cervidil? Could it be feasible that nothing else will happen, or is it a good sign that things have been moving along in the last week? Can progression usually continue or can it stop?
