Hello - I wrote a few days ago for advice after being "fired" by my OB practice. I'm in my 28th week, deemed high risk due to a history of PTL. I'm on HUAM and oral terb.

My firing is effective December 30. I've been informed in no uncertain terms that I cannot make appointments after that date. I have since found another practice that will accept me (and I had to call in favors for that - this whole thing has been incredibly humbling and humiliating), but the first available appointment is not until January 9, 2002.

So . . . between December 30 and January 9, who is my doctor? I assume if I go over my threshold the HUAM people will call my firing doctors, as they are the ones that ordered the device. What if I experience symptoms, or have problems or questions? What if I'm sent to L&D?

Strange thing is, I had my regular weekly appointment today with my favorite doctor in the "old" practice. He is always kind, but today was like any other day and when I left, he said "see you in a week," which leads me to believe he was not in on and/or not aware of the firing. I almost begged for mercy but I knew I would cry and lose my little remaining dignity, probably with the same result.

I'm worse than a man without a country . . . . Never have I felt so anxious or out to sea.

Thanks for any advice.
