active labor/epiduralFrom: Traci (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Dec 2001 17:43:32 -0600 (CST)
This is my 1st pregnancy. I wish to be as active as I can as long as I can during my labor. I wish to use walking/squatting/lunging so that gravity is my "friend"...I also have a huge fear of my pelvis being too narrow, and I think these positions will help me to enlarge/widen my pelvis. However, I also wish to have an epidural if I feel I need it! So, my question is, if I have the epidural, is there any way I can at least be vertical? Leaning on the bed, squatting on a chair, etc? I want the epidural, but the books I've read by Dr. Sears make me feel doomed if I succumb to being horizontal for even one second! Thank you for the advice...
