Fioricet vs. Vicodin for Migraine in Pregnancy

Hello, I am currently 8 weeks pregnant with my second child. I normally get migraines a few times a month (when I am not PG), which respond well to Fioricet. When I am pregnant, my migraines increase to several times a week - last time they were pretty bad into the middle of the second trimester, when they thankfully decreased. So far this PG they seem to be resuming the same pattern. Plain Tylenol unfortunately does not touch them, so I end up resorting to prescription meds when the pain is severe and other measures do not work. I remember that the last time I was PG (1.5 years ago), I read that Fioricet was not used during pregnancy and saw on one drug reference page that it (or barbiturates in general) was/were thought to possibly cause brain tumors or other issues in the baby. Have you ever heard of this? My doc put me on Vicodin instead...which helps but it is stronger than plain Fioricet and doesn't seem to do as good of a job with the headache. I am allergic to codiene, so that isn't an option. If you had to resort to one of these, which would be your choice in my situation? Thank you very much in advance for any help.
