Re: Birth defects from infertilityFrom: mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 27 Dec 2001 00:30:54 -0600 (CST)
Michelle, If we all believed everything we read, then we would be living in a bubble, tube-fed spring water, and hooked up to sterile oxygen. Furthermore, if I, personally, were to believe that article you read, then I suppose I would have to look at all three of my precious children (ages 11,7,4, and one on the way) and tell them they really were not "meant" to be, they should not be here on Earth, since they were all conceived on Clomid. In fact, the author of that article should have to look at EVERY child in the eye, who is the product of ANY form of fertility (or infertility) treatment and tell them they were a biological error...they do not deserve to be alive. As far as I am concerned, and this is just my opinion, God (or whatever higher power you believe in) would not have given us the capability to regenerate via fertility treatments if His precious souls were to be without life. I know it may not seem like it, but you and your husband are not the first two people to have to use Clomid/IUI, and have a miscarriage...there are millions out there like you, who HAVE conceived and HAVE given birth to perfectly normal babies...millions.... Do what you believe and take it from someone who has been there...I would not trade any of my babies for the world. Thanks to Clomid, they are here and have brought me and my husband more love and joy than you can imagine. And, if I dare to speak for them, I think they are pretty happy little beings, too! Good luck!
